About Tack

Less than three years after graduating from high school with a class of twenty-two people in western Oklahoma, Tack Sappington had worked his way onto over fifty different productions in and around Los Angeles. Two of those years were spent in the sports media and theatre programs at Oklahoma State, before he packed his bags and headed west in July of 2022. After starting out as a background performer, Tack quickly moved on to garner lead roles in short films, TV series, and music videos. He’s also had eight months of extensive training in technique and scene study from Speiser Sturges Acting Studio and commercial training from Mike Pointer. In July of 2023, Tack became a member of The Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre.

Though acting is his supreme passion, Tack has had many obsessions throughout his life: guitar, basketball, baseball, sports commentary (he worked for a year as a play-by-play analyst and commentated over sixty basketball games on the radio and online), weightlifting, hiking, streaming, and creative writing. Tack has long gravitated toward performances that are rugged, complex, raw, and extremely vulnerable, such as Robert Duvall in The Apostle and Ben Foster in Hell or High Water.

While he wants to keep himself motivated and joyful through his work, his ultimate goal is to provide honest, nuanced, and accurate portrayals of middle and lower-class citizens in America’s heartland that he feels are largely underrepresented in today’s industry.
